New Orleans Public Belt Railroad Boosts Liquid Bulk Capacity: A Strategic Expansion

The New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) and Gulf Gateway Terminal LLC have unveiled a significant expansion in their liquid bulk storage capacity at the Gulf Gateway’s facility located at the Port of New Orleans. This strategic move is set to enhance the terminal's efficiency and throughput capabilities.

The terminal, positioned as a crucial liquid storage and distribution hub, spans 40 acres at the port, granting access to all six Class I railroads through the NOPB. With the recent addition of a new storage tank, the facility's capacity will effectively double, with plans in place for further expansions in the coming years.

"GCT will now be able to store 260,000 barrels of liquid product, and we plan to add an additional tank a year to our operations for the next 10 years," remarked Brent Robertson, GCT site manager, highlighting the long-term vision of this expansion initiative.

Tomeka Watson Bryant, General Manager of the New Orleans Public Belt, added, "We value our long-standing partnership with Gulf Gateway Terminal. Over the years, we have collaborated to increase rail volumes through the New Orleans gateway. This expansion not only allows us to better serve our customers but also facilitates greater freight movement throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico."

FMCSA Active ELD Revoke List and the Importance of Compliance

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of commercial motor vehicles on American roads. As part of their oversight, they mandate the use of Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to monitor drivers’ hours of service (HOS) and ensure compliance with federal regulations. However, not all ELDs meet the necessary compliance standards. When a device no longer complies with FMCSA regulations or fails to meet performance standards, it is placed on the **FMCSA ELD Revoked List**. Below, we explore some of the key reasons why an ELD might be revoked and provide a table of current revoked devices.
